Sound effects for your game
Swords, footsteps, spells and explosions, described the way you'd brief a sound designer. Up to 30 seconds each, as a WAV for the build, royalty-free for commercial games.
Your songs
- Sound effects and ambience up to 30 seconds each, as an MP3 or a WAV.
- Nothing to switch. Describe a sound and you get a sound; describe music and you get a song with its stems.
- Royalty-free for commercial use on every plan.
- 5 free a month, then 5¢ each, from the same credits as songs.
Questions
Can I use them in a commercial game?
Yes. Every sound is royalty-free for commercial use on every plan, Free included: ship it in your game, its trailer and its store page.
Can it make my game's music too?
Yes. Describe music instead and you get a track with its stems, or a seamless loop for a level. The game music generator has ideas for every scene.
How long can a sound effect be?
Up to 30 seconds. Each is one stereo take, without stems, since it's one sound. Pick a shorter length for a single hit, like a door or a sword.
Can I use the music in a commercial game or video?
Yes. Every song is royalty-free on every plan, Free included: use it in commercial games, videos, streams, podcasts and apps.
How much does a sound effect cost?
The same as a song: 5 a month are free with a Daydream account, then 5¢ a song after that, in credit packs from $3 (60 songs). Credits never expire, and the API and the MCP server spend the same ones.
Can I use it in Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes. Add https://gen.daydream.live/mcp as a custom connector in Claude, or as a custom MCP server in ChatGPT, or add the Daydream app from ChatGPT's directory, and sign in with your Daydream account. Then describe a song in the chat: it plays there with its stems in their own lanes, and if you ask for new drums it makes that part again with the other four as they are. It spends the same credits as this page, 5 a song. How to add it.
Is there an API?
Yes. Send a description, get the song's MP3 and WAV back. It spends the same credits as the generator (5 a song); the API docs have examples for curl, JavaScript, Python, Unity and Godot.
