Music from your own code

Make songs and sound effects from a build script, an editor tool, a backend or an agent. The same generator as this page, over HTTP and MCP.

This is an example. Describe your own above and it comes like this too: solo a part, redo one, download them, or edit it in Studio.

Songs made here

Made from these words on this page, each with its stems. Move a level, or press M or S, to hear a part on its own.

How it works

  1. Pick a page, or describe it here. Each page above is the same generator, set up for one use with its own ideas. Or start from an idea under the box.
  2. Pick the shape. Tempo, key, length, or a seamless loop. Or leave them on Auto.
  3. Get your track with its stems. Play it, download the mix or the stems, or open it in Studio to change the parts.

One request, one song

Send a description to POST /v1/songs with your Daydream API key, poll the song until it's done, and download the MP3, the WAV or its five stems. That's the whole API: JSON in, links out, the same songs and the same price as this page. The API docs cover every field, with examples in curl, JavaScript, Python, Unity C# and Godot GDScript.

curl https://gen.daydream.live/v1/songs \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $DAYDREAM_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"prompt": "a looping forest level theme with harp and soft drums", "loop": true}'

Where it fits

  • Build steps and editor tools: make a level's music when the level is made, and ship the files.
  • Backends: make a track for each user's video or each new product page.
  • Agents: the MCP server gives Claude, ChatGPT and other agents the same tools: make a song, redo one stem, undo it, list songs, check what's left.

Keep the key on your machine or your server. A key can do anything on its account, so it doesn't belong in a web page or a game build you ship.

Sound effects from the same call

Describe a sound with no music in it, like "a soft, low two-note error beep", and the same request returns a sound effect: one take up to 30 seconds, as an MP3 or a WAV. The song's kind says which you got. Nothing else changes, so one integration covers a game's music and its sounds.

Questions

What does a call cost?

The same as the generator page: 5 credits ($0.05) a song or sound, from credit packs starting at $3, and the free songs each month count too. Credits never expire.

How long does a song take?

A few seconds once it's next in line. Poll the song every 2 seconds until its status is done; stems follow a few seconds after the mix.

Is there an SDK?

No SDK to install: it's a plain HTTP API with JSON in and out, so any language that can send a request can use it. The docs have curl, JavaScript, Python, Unity C# and Godot GDScript, and the OpenAPI spec works with code generators.

How much does it cost?

5 songs a month are free with a Daydream account, and 5¢ a song after that, in credit packs from $3 (60 songs), the API included. Credits never run out at the end of the month, and any pack is unlimited downloads, WAV and stems. A song is one description, and each comes with its stems.

Can I use the music in a commercial game or video?

Yes. Every song is royalty-free on every plan, Free included: use it in commercial games, videos, streams, podcasts and apps.

Can I use it in Claude or ChatGPT?

Yes. Add https://gen.daydream.live/mcp as a custom connector in Claude, or as a custom MCP server in ChatGPT, or add the Daydream app from ChatGPT's directory, and sign in with your Daydream account. Then describe a song in the chat: it plays there with its stems in their own lanes, and if you ask for new drums it makes that part again with the other four as they are. It spends the same credits as this page, 5 a song. How to add it.
