This is an example. Describe your own above and it comes like this too: solo a part, redo one, download them, or edit it in Studio.

Songs made here

Made from these words on this page, each with its stems. Move a level, or press M or S, to hear a part on its own.

How it works

  1. Pick a page, or describe it here. Each page above is the same generator, set up for one use with its own ideas. Or start from an idea under the box.
  2. Pick the shape. Tempo, key, length, or a seamless loop. Or leave them on Auto.
  3. Get your track with its stems. Play it, download the mix or the stems, or open it in Studio to change the parts.

Name the style, then the instruments

A genre on its own leaves a lot open. "Hip hop" could be dusty boom bap or a dark trap beat. Say the genre, then two or three instruments and a feel, and the track comes back much closer to what you heard in your head:

  • Lo-fi: "lazy swung drums, felt piano, light vinyl crackle".
  • Cinematic: "low strings, rising brass, three huge drum hits".
  • Ambient: "warm pads that swell every few bars, piano notes far apart".

Each page here is set up for one style, with ideas that show what it can do.

Tempo and key do a lot

Style is partly speed. Most lo-fi sits between 70 and 90 BPM, house around 120 to 128, drum and bass near 174. Set the tempo when you know the style, or leave it on Auto and let the description decide. Pick a key if the track has to sit with other music, like a set of cues for one video or one game.

Every style comes in parts

Whatever the style, each track is made as five stems (drums, bass, guitar, keys and other). They aren't split out of a finished mix, so they line up exactly and add up to it. Make the drums again for a different groove and the rest stays as it was, or take the keys out to leave room for something of your own.

All of it is instrumental, up to two minutes a song, and royalty-free for commercial use.

Questions

Is there a list of styles to pick from?

No. The description is the style, so anything you can describe is open, including mixes of two. Each page here is a starting point with ideas for one.

Can I make a track that sounds like a specific artist?

Describe the sound instead of naming someone: the era, the instruments, the tempo and the mood. That gets you closer, and the track is your own.

Can I mix two styles?

Yes. Name both and the instruments you want from each: "lo-fi beat with a jazz trumpet", "synthwave with orchestral strings". The description decides the style; there's no list to pick from.

How much does it cost?

5 songs a month are free with a Daydream account, and 5¢ a song after that, in credit packs from $3 (60 songs), the API included. Credits never run out at the end of the month, and any pack is unlimited downloads, WAV and stems. A song is one description, and each comes with its stems.

Can I use the music in a commercial game or video?

Yes. Every song is royalty-free on every plan, Free included: use it in commercial games, videos, streams, podcasts and apps.

Can I use it in Claude or ChatGPT?

Yes. Add https://gen.daydream.live/mcp as a custom connector in Claude, or as a custom MCP server in ChatGPT, or add the Daydream app from ChatGPT's directory, and sign in with your Daydream account. Then describe a song in the chat: it plays there with its stems in their own lanes, and if you ask for new drums it makes that part again with the other four as they are. It spends the same credits as this page, 5 a song. How to add it.
