This is an example. Describe your own above and it comes like this too: solo a part, redo one, download them, or edit it in Studio.

Songs made here

Made from these words on this page, each with its stems. Move a level, or press M or S, to hear a part on its own.

How it works

  1. Start from the words in the box. "a calm, inviting title screen loop with soft piano, warm pads and a slow, memorable melody". Change any of them, or pick an idea under the box.
  2. Pick the shape. Seamless loop is on, for music that repeats without a click. Pick a tempo, a key and a length, or leave them on Auto.
  3. Get your track with its stems. Play it, download the mix or the stems, or open it in Studio to change the parts.

The first thing anyone hears

The title screen plays before anyone has touched the controls, so its music tells them what kind of game this is. Players can also sit on it, and on the settings screens behind it, for minutes while they set things up. It needs a clear identity and a gentle loop.

  • A motif: a short, memorable phrase on one lead instrument. This is often the main theme the rest of the game returns to.
  • Slow and open: a calm tempo, pads underneath, no big drum fills.
  • The game's sound: the instruments of its world, so the first notes already belong.

Turn on Seamless loop so it never stops while the player reads the options.

Pause, settings and loading

Menus inside the game are smaller jobs. A pause menu loop should be softer than anything in the levels, so pausing feels like stepping out. Loading screens want a short, steady loop with a pulse. A character select screen can be livelier, since the player is about to play.

Every track comes as five stems (drums, bass, guitar, keys and other). Pause can simply be the current level theme with only the keys and other part playing, which keeps the music going without a cut.

Handing off to the game

Make the title theme in the key of the first level, or the first town, so pressing Start can fade one into the other on a bar line. The loop generator has more on switching loops cleanly.

Questions

How loud should menu music be?

Quieter than gameplay music. Menus are full of small interface sounds and the player is reading, so keep the title theme a step down and the pause music softer still.

Can the pause menu keep the level music going?

Yes. Load the level theme as stems and drop the drums, bass and guitar when the game pauses. When it resumes, bring them back on the next bar line.

Should the title theme be the game's main theme?

It usually works best that way. Make the title theme first, then describe the same lead instrument and use the same key for the credits and the big moments, so the game opens and closes on one sound.

Can I use the music in a commercial game or video?

Yes. Every song is royalty-free on every plan, Free included: use it in commercial games, videos, streams, podcasts and apps.

Can I use it in Claude or ChatGPT?

Yes. Add https://gen.daydream.live/mcp as a custom connector in Claude, or as a custom MCP server in ChatGPT, or add the Daydream app from ChatGPT's directory, and sign in with your Daydream account. Then describe a song in the chat: it plays there with its stems in their own lanes, and if you ask for new drums it makes that part again with the other four as they are. It spends the same credits as this page, 5 a song. How to add it.
