This is an example. Describe your own above and it comes like this too: solo a part, redo one, download them, or edit it in Studio.

Songs made here

Made from these words on this page, each with its stems. Move a level, or press M or S, to hear a part on its own.

How it works

  1. Start from the words in the box. "a short triumphant victory fanfare with brass, timpani and a bright final chord". Change any of them, or pick an idea under the box.
  2. Pick the shape. Tempo, key, length, or a seamless loop. Or leave them on Auto.
  3. Get your track with its stems. Play it, download the mix or the stems, or open it in Studio to change the parts.

Short, with Seamless loop off

A sting is a cue that plays once and ends: a victory fanfare, a game over, a level up. Leave Seamless loop off, pick the shortest length, and say in the description how short it is and how it ends.

  • Say the shape: "rises to one bright chord", "falls to a low note", "two quick hits and a held chord".
  • Say the size: "short", "quick", "a few seconds".
  • Trim it: cut the file to the hit in your engine or audio editor and add a short fade at the tail.

The rare exception is a continue screen, where the countdown music waits for the player. That one wants Seamless loop on.

Match the music it follows

A sting sounds right when it picks up where the music before it stopped. Make the victory fanfare in the same key and tempo as the battle theme it closes, and the last hit resolves into it instead of jarring. A game over sting can drop into a minor version of the same key. If a game has several battle themes in different keys, make a fanfare for each.

A full set of stings

Most games need more short cues than people plan for. Make them together, with the same instruments, so they sound like one family.

  • Victory and defeat.
  • Level up, item get, quest complete, achievement.
  • Stage clear and a life lost, for arcade and platform games.
  • A save, a door unlocked, a puzzle solved.

For a retro set, ask for square-wave leads; the 8-bit music generator has more. For short sounds with no music in them, see game sound effects.

Questions

Should a victory sting come with stems too?

It does, like every song. Useful when a fanfare's drums clash with your battle's last hit: play the sting without them.

How do I make a game over feel fair rather than harsh?

Ask for something soft and short: a few falling notes on a piano or strings, no loud hit. A gentle sting makes retrying feel welcome.

How do I get a sting instead of a full track?

Leave Seamless loop off, pick the shortest length and say how short and how it ends: "a short fanfare that ends on one bright chord". Then trim the file to the hit in your engine or editor.

Can I use the music in a commercial game or video?

Yes. Every song is royalty-free on every plan, Free included: use it in commercial games, videos, streams, podcasts and apps.

Can I use it in Claude or ChatGPT?

Yes. Add https://gen.daydream.live/mcp as a custom connector in Claude, or as a custom MCP server in ChatGPT, or add the Daydream app from ChatGPT's directory, and sign in with your Daydream account. Then describe a song in the chat: it plays there with its stems in their own lanes, and if you ask for new drums it makes that part again with the other four as they are. It spends the same credits as this page, 5 a song. How to add it.
